The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) was established in 1935, formerly known as Texas Liquor Control Board. The function of this board was to perform inspections and keep the alcoholic beverage business under supervision.
It is necessary for the employers involved in the business of alcohol, selling or server, to make sure that their employees are TABC certified and for how long their certification will be valid. There are no specific age stipulations for TABC Certification. In cases if the employee has a criminal background may forbid the employers to hire them.
Alcohol is one of the biggest businesses in Texas, it has opened doors to employment. Last year the alcohol business provided 301,000 jobs and a $19.2 billion of yearly profit.
As the sale of alcohol to a minor is prohibited, anyone caught in this act would be fined heavily. The basic purpose of TABC certification is to make the employee aware about the laws and abide by them, so the bar owners may not get their license cancelled just because of some uneducated workers violating the laws
